Akuazul Resorts Adults Only is at Blvd. Kukulcan Km 23.5, on the main road that runs the length of the Hotel Zone. Everyone staying is an adult. The hotel doesn't publish the pool's size, floor, season or water temperature, and it sells no day pass, so the catch is how little the hotel says.

- On Boulevard Kukulcan, the Hotel Zone's main road
- Three-star hotel with a phone line for questions
What we think
If someone asks us for a quiet, adults-only base, this is a fair choice, but not our first pick for a rooftop swim. Its one firm selling point is the age rule: the hotel is adults only. Mondrian Cancun, Hyatt Zilara and Garza Blanca also keep their rooftop pools adults only, and they publish more about the pool itself. The downside is the gaps. The hotel doesn't publish a day pass, so non-guests have no way in that we can point you to. Royalton Chic is the one to look at if you want a pass: it starts at USD $120 per person. Akuazul is a three-star with a 3.7 rating on Google from 184 reviews, so expect a modest stay.
- Phone the hotel on +529982965151 before booking and ask about pool hours, season and heating.
- If you only want a pool day without a room, look at Royalton Chic instead, where passes start at USD $120 per person.
